History: Her mother was a seamstress. When Stella was about 4, her mother would give her a threaded needle and her button jar and Stella would spend a lot of time stringing and unstringing buttons. When she was 10, a neighbor taught her how to crochet. Her mother taught her to sew and Stella made a lot of her own clothes during high school. Stella also learned many needlework skills from her Aunt while in high school including Swedish weaving, chicken scratching, hooking rugs, cross stitch and needlepoint. A co-worker taught her to knit. When she retired, she started to take lessons with acrylic painting.
Honors: She has won prizes and ribbons at local fairs for paintings.
Education: She is a self-taught crafter. She has taken painting classes from a professional artist for two winter seasons.
