Joni Warner Artist
Joni Warner was born and raised in Miami, FL. Joni moved to Lake Placid with her husband in
1992 to get away from the hustle and bustle of south Florida. She joined the Caladium Arts & Crafts Co-operative in July of 2000 as a ceramic artist. The Co-op has helped her grow and explore new crafts and ideas.
Crafts have been a huge part of her life for as long as she can remember. As a child
she would draw and doodle for hours on end. Joni along with her mother attended classes for
cake decorating, ceramics and general crafts in our quest for learning anything
crafty. They eventually started a small company and sold their work at local craft
shows. After her mother passed away, Joni with her husband began doing art and
craft shows full time. They traveled the country attending craft shows, fairs and
contracted with malls to sell during the holidays.
Joni Warner joined the Co-op as a ceramist and it did not take long before she was exploring
other types of arts. As of now, she has taught herself to needle felt, crochet,
draw, mosaic, string art, alcohol ink, acrylic painting, polymer clay, french
bead, paper crafts, jewelry, glass painting, and glass draping/sagging. Usually her
creations have a theme. The most prevalent theme would be caladiums
as Lake Placid is the Caladium Capital of the World. Other themes include sea
shells, peacock feathers, flamingos, sunflowers, angels, and baby items.
So many crafts to explore!!
